Commissions
Kate Ann Joy is available for select photography, visual art, and creative direction commissions. Projects are developed according to their individual creative and production requirements.
Scope
- Photography
- Commissioned photographic work including portraiture, editorial, promotional imagery, live music documentation, and selected commercial assignments.
- Creative Direction & Production
- Creative concept development, art direction, visual planning, and production coordination for photographic and visual projects.
- Visual Art
- Individual artistic commissions and selected collaborations involving photographic or concept-led visual work.
Rates
Personal photography commissions start from £350. Editorial, commercial, and creative direction projects are quoted individually.
Photography is typically charged at half-day (up to 4 hours) or full-day (up to 8 hours) rates, with shorter assignments and multi-day bookings available.
Rates vary according to the scope of work, production requirements, post-production, deliverables, and intended image usage. Sessions that can comfortably be accommodated at Backstairs Studio do not incur an additional studio hire fee.
Additional expenses and licensing are outlined in each quotation. All rates are quoted in GBP.
Directly bookable portrait sessions are also available through Backstairs Studio, with headshots and model digitals starting at £150 and editorial portrait sessions starting at £270.

Enquiry
You provide basic project details, including the intended work, approximate date, location, deliverables, and any existing creative brief.

Proposal
I review the enquiry and provides the appropriate next steps, which may include a quotation, discussion of the brief, and clarification of production requirements.

Confirmation & Production
Once the scope and terms are agreed, the project is scheduled and developed through the appropriate planning, production, and delivery stages.
Commission Enquiry
Share a few details about the project: what you have in mind, an approximate date, location, and deliverables. A full creative brief isn't needed at this stage.
